Bah. I have seen way too many awesome webmasters being taken advantage of. Why are people so mean?! Here are these nice people who are offering to make FREE layouts and other images, give FREE reviews, allow FREE hosting, and people can't ever be happy enough. A couple of my favorite sites have closed because of people who have demanded more than a webmaster could give and that...it just ticks me off.

GRRR.

Okay. Well, that's said. Now on to what I came on to say. I put up a new layout at In-Human and Star Mist Reviews. I think I am getting better at making layouts...although I am still a little self conscious, so tell me what you think in my guestbook or tag-board please!

Well, I have good and bad news. Classic is working only when it feels like it. So I can make image maps only when the computer wants to. I'll just have to be nice and treat it like the Doctor would the TARDIS. Also, my parents are only allowing me to be on the computer after 9:00 Eastern time. But that shouldn't really change anything much. I'll still update everyday, depending on if people join my fanlisings/cliques. It might affect the RPG I joined though.

Well, I have my folder back so and I just finished adding all the people who joined my fanlistings over the past few days. And Classic was working, but now it isn't again. So, no image maps AGAIN. BAH!!! I can't access my folder to update my sites since my brother took my folder off his hard drive and put it in a little chip and now it's "taking a break" on his desk. So, I can't change anything until he puts his chip back into the computer. He needs the space for a project he is doing, but he hopes to have my folder (and his other stuff) back soon. When, I don't know. And since he finally reinstalled Classic, I can now make image maps again. YAY! ...so no site stuff for a while. I'll still be here, online though.

Wow! I am enthralled.

I just finished reading the autobiography of Frank W. Abagnale, Catch Me if You Can. In this crazy true story, a 16 year old boy impersonates a Pan Am pilot, complete with uniform, FAA licsence, and ID. He also supervises an entire hospital ward under the guise of having a degree in pediactrics. He passed the bar exam for law after studying for three weeks and "became" a liscened lawyer from Harvard. When these high profile jobs began to attract attention, he taught as a professor of socielogy at a college (having never finished highschool). Meanwhile, he impersonated an FBI agent twice in order to save his wanted crook self.

After being imprisoned for stealing over 2 million dollars in bad checks, fake accounts, and his smooth talking, he escaped from imprisoment three times before he was finally caught and did his time in a Virginina prison.
1. He convinced someone he was innocent and was bailed out for $5,000.
2. He snuck out of an airplane by removing the toilet in the bathroom and going under the plane.
3. He was transferred to a prison and the guards thought he was an undercover FBI agent who was inspecting the prison. Well, he obviously took that oppurtunity that was given him and played right along. =)

Frank is one of the most respected voices when it comes to check fraud and other falsified paperwork. He has worked with the FBI for over 25 years and currently teaches FBI students.

Well, I don't think I'd want a co-pilot who has never flown before sitting in the cock pit of my plane; or someone who has never practiced medicine supervising the hospital; or my lawyer to really be 18. But I have to admire his incredible, if not completely criminal, acheivements.

NO! She married the wrong guy!

I have only seen 8 episodes of Dawson's Creek. This is mainly because while Dawson's dialouge is incredibly insightful and wonderful, the actual plot line of the show is incredibly and horribly boring and redundant.

I've seen the six episodes that guest starred Jason Behr, some episode where Joey befriends this guy who tried to rob her or something, and the series finale. SO, I guess I really shouldn't have an opinion. I mean, after all, I have not laughed, cried, and vicariously lived through these characters. Although, I have vomited right along with Jen.

From my perspective, Dawson is a very stable, tortured soul type guy who has loved Joey all his life. (I'm a sucker, I know) Okay, maybe Dawson is a little flakey and dumb, but compare him to Pacey. Pacey is a sex fiend! He is having affairs with teachers in high school! And now five years later he is still sleeping with the married folk. If he loves Joey so much...why? (Prolly, 'cuz he is a dependent man who craves acceptance and needs reassurance in his lifestyle and personality; all the characters truly have intriguing psychological developments.)

Putting aside Pacey's fickleness and my futile love for Dawson, I must admit that the writers ended the series very well. Pacey and Joey are good enough together. The whole Jen drama was VERY touching, even to a viewer like me who has seen about as many episodes of the show as I've seen pigs fly.

It takes some mad skill to write a love triangle that is so twisted and screwed up and then bring the three characters to a happy and peaceful relationship between them three. Mad skill. I loved how Dawson's writing was a parallel to the show; it was clever. (I don't know how they kept it going for SIX years.) I also loved the way The Creek was advertised and filmed in the same manner as Dawson's Creek. And Sam's speech to, uh, the-dawson-guy, "I don't want to wait for our lives to be over. I want to know right now."

I may not have watched this show (and lots of people know that I have made fun of it on many occasion), but I must admit it was well written, well scripted, and well acted. Or at the least the 8 episodes I saw were.

Still, I have absolutely NO desire to see any more episodes. Only Joey and Dawson had the values that I look for in a TV show and I'm sure that if I watch more episodes one of 'em will have sex...and that will tick me off. There is only so much love-who-is-dating-who-soul-mate-love-you-forever-sex-fiend-ness that I can take. I have Roswell for that. =)

I had a conversation with someone who owns a DVD site and the main topic was ROSWELL DVD so he is the info:

I found this cool avatar/fanart/fanfic site. It's called my world. (Well, technically it found me, since the guy who manages it joined my fanlisting, Aura.) It's by a guy named Brian. I haven't seen all that many Roswell related sites created by guys. So, go check it out! It's worth it.

And remember, for those of you who are recording Roswell off SCI FI, that Children of Dune will air on Monday and Tuesday. Roswell returns for Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.

My teacher gave me the cruelest homework assignment ever. He told us to pick our favorite book. We just finished reading Fahrenheit 451 so if we had to memorize one book to pass down generation to generation, what book would it be? And I thought, only ONE book? Is he insane? So I spent a half hour in front of my bookshelf rereading passages from all my favorites books.

I finally narrowed it down to Roswell High: The Watcher (Metz), I Love You Forever , S. Morgenstern’s Classic Tale of True Love and High Adventure The Princess Bride (Goldman), Illusions: The Adventures of a Reluctant Messiah (Bach), and The Bourne Identity (Ludlum).

So, then I had a very hard decision. I decided to disregard my favorite children’s book, I love You Forever . And to not count my favorite young adult book, RH: The Watcher . And I also took out the Bourne Identity , since even though it is great, it doesn’t really offer all that much to society. Which left me with SMCTOTLAHA The Princess Bride , and Illusions: TAOARM .

Well, in Illusions: TAOARM , there is the Messiah handbook which if you open to any page will tell you what you need to know at the time. So I tried it. I opened Illusions: TAOARM to any page and it worked! The characters were going t o see a movie called Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid . Well, Goldman, the author of SMCTOTLAHA The Princess Bride wrote that movie. So you see, there really is a God.

And if you don’t think SMCTOTLAHA The Princess Bride has anything to offer to future generations, then you must be crazy. The actual plot line really isn’t that good. I mean, yeah. True love. Guy and girl live happily ever after, what’s so special about that? Nothing. But Goldman’s ingenious style of writing offers a creativity that I would want to be passed down generation to generation. I mean, he is abridging a book that never existed and making fun of himself indirectly throughout the whole novel. I love it!

Not to say that there aren’t other good books. Ender’s Game and Ender’s Shadow by Orson Scott Card. Roahld Daul! Can’t forget his great works. The Secret Garden, Harriet the Spy. The Trumpet of the Swan. Name it. The Bible.

Anyway, my ftp client started to close every ten minutes because I wasn't purchasing it. That got real annoying so I started downloading other ones, but none of them I liked. And since I am in Mac OS X, there aren't that many to choose from. Grrr. It's all better now, anyway. I am still trying to fix my images though. Everytime I make a jpeg and then upload it, it says there is an error. It's weird.

I got Little Green Men yesterday and I finished it at 11:58pm last night. =)

Review: Little Green Men by Dean Wesley Smith and Kristine Kathryn Rusch

I thought that Little Green Men was very disappointing. Compared to No Good Deed, which is by the same authors, Little Green Men, well, sucked. I think this was by far the worst book in the whole Roswell tv series of books. OK…so the town turns green. Then a serious of highly predictable events take place and then suddenly the entire town is cured and back to normal. I don’t think so.

And also the characters were nothing like they should be. Each one had huge character flaws! Tess was not Tess. Michael was acting nothing like Michael. Maria, was a whiny little idiot who couldn’t think about anyone but herself, which is not always true, but still. I just couldn’t imagine any of the tv characters acting like they did in that book.

And my goodness, whoever edited that book should be shot.

Review: Tuck Everlasting (movie)

Wow! I haven't seen a movie go so true to a book since...uh...The Face on the Milk Carton. Alexis Bledel is such a pretty girl. She is so sweet in Gilmore Girls. I hope that being a celebrity doesn't ruin her personality.

Of course, there were minor errors in this movie. Such as there being no bottle, no pouring the bottle's water on a toad, and no toad living forever. =)

But that's OK. It was an excellent movie, just as it was an excellent book. Read the book first, though. I liked how in the movie, Winnie was buried over the spring; in the book a shopping center was built over it. It was sweet because it showed that she still loved Jesse. In the book, she didn't drink and that was that.

The Tuck family is forever damned....and so is the toad.

Oh....I love it!!

Review: Good Will Hunting (movie)

Oh wow! What an excellent plot and the filming was spectacluar! I thought the movie could have been way way better if they had taken out much of the swearing....but I suppose it really made the characters more realistic. Besides, we're all mature enough to look past that.

Robin Williams, as always, played his character well and, as always, his character was intellectual and awesome.

Matt Damon is an actor who is becoming more and more liked by me. I usually like his characters. I know pretty much nothing about him, but it is cool that him and Ben Affleck knew each other growing up. It is also pretty dang cool that they wrote Good Will Hunting together.

They are always in movies together. Dogma, and Good Will Hunting and, uh... Well I can't think of any others.

Well, anyways. Good Will Hunting is an excellent movie and if you haven't seen it, you should. It's all about life, what you should get out of it, and love. The smartest man at Harvard isn't a student; he's a janitor who doesn't care that he is sitting on a gold mine until he is forced to really look at his life.

Ow....someone slammed the van door on my hand on the way to bowling practice. I had to ask three friggin' times for someone to open it before they actually heard me. Yeah. Nice to know my team cares.

OK, I am in a really crappy mood right now. I have tons of homework, I want to watch Buffy and Charmed tonight and I am freakin' about finals coming up. And my finger hurts!

I started reading Ishmael, by Daniel Quinn. Since it is close to finals, I hope I will be spending more time studying instead of reading. Quinn. It makes me think of Dennis Quinn, you know, Doyle from the tv show Angel. I liked Doyle. But after he left, that show just went straight to hell. I hate it. More than hate it. Oh, just go here if you really care what I think.

Well, I read Roswell High: The Outsider, by Melinda Metz for the millionth time yesterday. I can practically recite it. A couple days ago I read The Watcher, which is my favorite book in that series. I love the chapter where Max is having all these thoughts about being Patient X and the akino. And Trevor with all his examining of human emotions! Wow....fun reading.

OK, well I don't think I should talk about Roswell High, since I can go on for hours and hours and really, I should be doing my homework. =)

Review: 1984, by George Orwell.

1984 gave me a new prespective with politics. I never really cared much for the way the country is run. It works. That is all that matters. But this books really brought me to see that more than that matters. The people with the power quite simply have the power. And to know that we have the choice (in the USA) to vote and decide who will yeild that power...is comforting and an awesome gift.

I must admit (being the critic that I am) that I thought George Orwell elaborated a little too strongly on certain points. He would say something, then say it again in a slightly different way. I felt like screaming "I got it the FIRST time!"

1984 was definetly worth the read. The whole idea behind it was interesting and exactly what the human race has been fighting. Each chapter had a very cool message that made you stop and think. The author had a way of proving contradictions to be sane, of making the biggest oxymoron common sense.

Doublethink. Love vs. Hate. Power.

Human emotions, thoughts, and physical endurance is explored in this novel, along with a surprise ending. I'm not about to say this is the best book in the world ('cus it surely isn't), and I am fairly sure that I will never read it again, but it was psychologically intriguing.

Well, I am close to the end of 1984 by George Orwell. I hope to finish it quite soon, but I keep stopping to re-read the books that I got for Christmas. Just yesterday I read books one through 4 in the series Fingerprints by Melinda Metz. I am waiting for book 5 to come in; I ordered it from Borders.

So, here's to some posts and reviews and all soon. I think this blog will just be a mix of book reviews and random thoughts. Sound good to you? Sounds good to me.

Well, I don't know what to do now that I have a blog. I was going to use this for updates, but I don't know. I like having update sections on each of my individual sites. It makes everything neater.

So...what can I use this blog for? Hmmm...I am thinking I might use it to tell you all my bowling scores and averages. HA! (That was a joke.) I could use it to just go on and on and on about how much I love Jason Behr and Shiri Appleby and Katherine Heigl and anything Roswell related. But no.

BOOKS!! That's it!!! BOOKS! I will write a review after each book I read and let you know about it. What I thought of the writing style, the characters, the plot. I like that idea.

But do you? See, now that is really the question. What is the point of having a blog if nobody reads it?
